MYHockey Tournaments Kicks Off 25th Season at Tim Hortons Iceplex

Youth hockey action returns to Monroe County this weekend as Tim Hortons Iceplex serves as the primary host venue for the Rochester Fall Classic (October 9–11, 2026)—the official kickoff to the 2026–2027 MYHockey Tournaments series.

This season marks a major sports tourism milestone: MYHockey Tournaments is in its 28th year of running premier youth hockey events across North America, and this season represents the 25th season of partnership between MYHockey Tournaments and Tim Hortons Iceplex as its flagship host facility in Greater Rochester.

Tournament action will be centered at Tim Hortons Iceplex (2700 Brighton Henrietta Townline Rd, Rochester, NY 14623), with Lakeshore Hockey Arena serving as an overflow venue to support the extensive schedule of games. Over the next six months, six major tournament weekends will bring youth hockey teams, families, and supporters from across North America directly to the Rochester region.

Rochester Fall Classic Brings International Competition & $1.9M Economic Boost

The opening Rochester Fall Classic features 45 teams in total, bringing a dynamic cross-border footprint to Greater Rochester. Visiting youth hockey teams will represent seven U.S. states—Massachusetts, Maryland, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia—as well as the Canadian province of Ontario.

This opening tournament weekend alone is projected to generate over $1.9 million in total economic impact for Monroe County.

Multi-Million Dollar Economic Impact for Monroe County

Sports tourism continues to prove itself as a vital economic driver for the local community. Last season, the MYHockey Tournaments series generated an estimated $8,826,242 in economic impact for Monroe County.

With strong registration numbers across all age brackets and divisions, the 2026–2027 six-event series is projected to produce an even larger overall economic surge, benefiting:

• Hotels & Lodging: Thousands of room nights booked across Rochester-area hotels.

• Dining & Hospitality: Direct economic spending at local restaurants, sports bars, and eateries.

• Retail & Regional Attractions: Out-of-town visitors exploring local retail centers, small businesses, and community landmarks.

“Reaching our 25th season of partnership with MYHockey Tournaments is a proud milestone for Tim Hortons Iceplex,” said [Name, Title]. “Welcoming 45 teams from seven states and Ontario for the Fall Classic allows us to showcase world-class youth hockey while driving over $1.9 million into Monroe County’s local economy in a single weekend.”
